Malone Golf Club

Following on from RPP’s experience of similar golf club schemes, such as Favour Royal Hotel and Golf Club and Clandeboye Golf Club, the practice was engaged by the Development Committee of Malone Golf Club to develop a scheme for the club’s member facilities.

In recognition of the under-utilisation of existing club buildings, RPP reorganised the club’s layout with the creation of a new entrance lobby and pavilion bar. The pavilion bar was carefully constructed to mirror the distinctive characteristics of the prestigious stone building clubhouse, with roofline and materials matching exactly. The extensively glazed pavilion bar opens onto a spacious sun terrace with stunning views over Ballydrain Lake that is ideal for al fresco dining in better weather.

Also included in the scheme, was the refurbishment and extension of the existing kitchen, changing and shower areas and staff quarters.
