In their first ever move to Belfast City Centre, Dunnes Stores embarked on a refurbishment project of a landmark Grade 2 listed building on Belfast’s Cornmarket.
Following a 16-week contract and an £8 million investment, the store opened its doors to the public with approximately 100,000 square feet of retail space spread over five floors.
Maximising retail space was a key factor in the design process. The use of vibrant colours and careful lighting ensure the store feels bright and spacious. Navigation is made easy via the new core of six escalators at the heart of the building.
Along with a 150-seat restaurant on the top floor and a new concept convenience store off Ann Street, the refurbished building now enlivens the Cornmarket area of Belfast, presenting a strong presence in Belfast’s retail heartland.
