The project consisted of the demolition of the existing community centre on the site, and the construction of a new, single storey youth club with associated car parking and external works including new vehicular and pedestrian access to the site.
The new St Mary’s Youth Club is a state-of-the-art multi-purpose building, approximately 1600sq m gross internal area, comprising of a large sports hall, multi-purpose activity area, changing areas, snack bar and adaptable teaching spaces.
Externally the site comprises of a multi-use games area, landscaped green areas, car parking spaces and cycle facilities.
As the consultant Architects, RPP led Contractor Ganson UK, from Stage 4 through to completion and handover in Autumn 2020.
The new facilities are situated right in the heart of the community and are significantly benefiting the local Creggan community.
