RPP Architects have achieved completion of the 93 bedroom 4* Ebrington Hotel, Derry, in time for a Summer 2023 opening.
The project involved the retention of, and extension to a number of Listed Buildings in the former Ebrington military barracks. This includes the iconic Clock Tower Building, which commands a prominent position overlooking the parade ground and River Foyle. The preserved Listed Buildings, together with contemporary new-build elements, provide the hotel bedroom accommodation. Which includes a number of bars and lounges as well as a restaurant and large function room. The thermal spa looks onto the Star Fort Wall, a Scheduled Monument to the rear of the complex. A further phase of development is planned to take the overall occupancy to 152 bedrooms.
McKelvey Construction, were the main contractor, RPP also provided interior design services, in conjunction with Eamon Carberry Interiors.
